Netaji Indoor Stadium was established in 1975, and inaugurated by Siddharta Sankar Roy, former Chief Minister of West Bengal. It is situated in front of the High Court, beside the Eden Garden. The stadium has a total capacity of about 12,000 persons and is fully equipped with advanced facilities for organizing games like table tennis, basket ball, volley ball, and badminton to meet the International standards. The totals area of the stadium is about 20,553 square meters. It is not only a very famous venue for the indoor sports but also for organizing business events as it comprises of a press room, a huge conference hall, telex room and a dining hall well furnished with advanced technological systems. There is an easy access for public transportation as Howrah and Sealdah railway station are close by and bus services is easy available.
