World Trade Centre, Mumbai (WTC Mumbai) brings together business and government agencies involved in international trade, provide them with a multiplicity of trade services and facilities and stimulated the economy of the region it serves. Named after Dr. M Visvesvaraya, one the makers of madern India, the M. Visvesvaraya Industrial Research & Development Centre (MVIRDC) was established in 1970 as a non-profit company licenced under Sec. 25 of the Companies Act, and is governed by a Council of Management comprising industrialists and representatives from Central and State Governments and Apex Trade Promotion Organizations. In 1971, MVIRDC became a member of the World Trade Centre Mumbai Association (WTCA), New York. MVIRDC now popularly called WTC Mumbai, making it a unique gateway to global business.
